Information Regarding Re-Entry from Superintendent Melissa Gipson

At Bald Knob Public Schools, we are committed to providing a high-quality learning experience. We believe students learn best in an environment that is rich in social-emotional learning and extracurricular activities while also maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment. More than ever the teachers and staff are excited to welcome your child back to school on August 13, 2020.

Bald Knob Schools has partnered with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Arkansas Public School Resource Center to provide a robust online learning opportunity facilitated and supported by Bald Knob teachers.

Parents will have two instructional options for all students that include social-emotional learning and extracurricular activities to the extent practicable: blended learning or virtual learning.

  1. BLENDED LEARNING:  Blended instruction will take place on campus as scheduled following the Bald Knob Schools 2020-2021 Calendar. Students will experience a blended approach to instruction in which teachers will offer face-to-face instruction with online instruction embedded. In the event of a school closure, blended instruction will continue for blended students remotely at home.

  2. VIRTUAL LEARNING:  Virtual instruction will take place off-campus as scheduled following the Bald Knob Schools 2020-2021 Calendar through enrollment in the Bald Knob Virtual Academy (BKVA). The BKVA provides students an opportunity to remain a part of our Bald Knob School family while attending virtually. In the BKVA, students will experience instruction online with assistance provided virtually by a Bald Knob teacher of record.

If you are considering the BKVA, you are invited to an informational parent meeting on Tuesday, July 14th, in the Bald Knob High School gymnasium with a limit of one adult per household due to social distancing requirements and capacity limitations. A presentation for K-5 parents will be from 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM preceding a presentation for parents of Grades 6-12 students from 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM. Face masks will be required to attend the meeting.

Operating in the midst of a pandemic is difficult; however, these moments of difficulty provide us with an opportunity to shine. Our school family is prepared to rise to the occasion to ensure your child’s health, well being, and education are at the center of every decision. The three words on our school crest will prevail: pride, achievement, and integrity.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or your child’s building principal. If you prefer to email your questions, please do so with an email to covid19.questions@baldknobschools.org.
