On November 5th, voters in Bald Knob will be asked to vote on the Bald Knob School Millage 38.50 Mill School Tax. This tax rate represents the same tax rate currently being collected. The total proposed school tax levy of 38.50 mills includes 25.0 mills for general maintenance and operation, and 13.50 mills for debt service.
A Vote FOR: will restructure certain outstanding bonded indebtedness , extend the existing debt service mills, generate $10,400,000 in project funds to build a new elementary, and voters will not see any change in their annual millage rate.
A Vote AGAINST: current tax rate stays the same, BKPS will not issue bonds, and BKPS cannot build a new elementary school.
Whether you vote FOR or AGAINST the School Millage Tax, the current millage rate of 38.50 will remain 38.50. PROPOSED PROJECTS: Build and equip a new elementary building and relocate power lines underground.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th.
If you have any questions about bonds or extending the existing debt service mills, Mr. Jack Truemper from Stephens will be available at the district administration office on October 21st at 5:30 p.m. He will address questions prior to the regular school board meeting that evening. Reminder, our flu shot clinic is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct 2nd. If you have a student that you would like to receive a flu shot, please return their form by tomorrow, Friday the 27th. If you need a form, you can pick one up in any of our offices.

This morning, we experienced a brief period of low water pressure due to a water main leak. However, I am pleased to inform you that all of our restrooms are now fully operational. We have also brought in cases of water for all buildings, and lunch will be served as scheduled so school will continue as normal today.
Regarding the football game tonight, it will proceed as planned. We will have portable restrooms available as a precaution, should any further issues arise with the water supply.
Please know that your child’s well-being remains our top priority. If anything changes, we will notify you immediately.

The Bald Knob School District is aware of a social media post circulating that involves our school district and a school shooting. The individual in the post claims a friend received the message from a student in another school district. Law enforcement has already spoken to and questioned the student regarding the potential threat. After the interview and ongoing investigation, the authorities feel at this time that the threat posed by the student is not credible. We are working with Bald Knob Police Department and the White County Sheriff's Department and we will make you aware of any changes. You will see an increased law enforcement presence as patrols on our campus have been increased, we have two school resource officers on duty, and several CSSOs (Certified School Security Officers) present in all of our buildings. Our school district is working hard in conjunction with the police department to ensure a safe learning environment for everyone. Dr. Davis.
