Due to the number of inclement weather days (4) that we have already had, and the fact we are on an alternate schedule we can count minutes instead of days. By doing this, we can make up our student instruction time without adding days to the end of May. There is still a possibility of additional winter weather before the end of this year. If we stay with our current calendar we would need to add 4 days to the end of May, currently making our last day May 30th. Our teachers and staff overwhelmingly support allowing students to finish the year before Memorial Day, with the last day of school being May 24. Thus, we will make the following adjustment to the calendar:
*February 16 will be a student day instead of a PD day for teachers.
*Make late start Wednesday a regular start day for the remainder of the year.
*Starting Monday, February 12, add 6 minutes to the end of the day
*6th - 12th would be a normal start at 7:50 and end at 3:11.
*Kindergarten - 5th grade would be a normal start at 8:00 and end at 3:21
With these minor adjustments to the student calendar, we will gain (4) days of instruction through added instruction time.
