Earlier this week a survey was sent to families for parents/guardians to provide input regarding students' needs as we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year.
If you have not already completed the family survey about your students' needs for instruction in the fall, please do so.
Each family who completes the survey will have their family's name placed in a drawing for a prize. Each building will have one family winner. If you have already submitted the survey for your family, your name is already entered in the drawing.
The drawing will take place on Monday morning. Please do not delay. This information will assist the school in providing the very best learning environment for your child(ren).

The Bald Knob School District is grieving today as we come to terms with the loss of one of our elementary school students. Good Afternoon. This is Lisa Moore, H. L. Lubker Elementary Principal. Due to Covid 19, our kindergarten and preschool graduations were not able to be held or rescheduled. In order to celebrate each preschool and kindergarten graduate, the Bald Knob School District has placed our Preschool and Kindergarten graduate signs in the grassy lot on the corner of Pine and Cleveland streets. Please feel free to drive by and/or take pictures. The district will make arrangements to get each child their sign at a later date. Congratulations graduates.

This is Melissa Gipson, Superintendent of Bald Knob Schools. Several community members notified the Bald Knob School District Administration about a racially insensitive social media post made by a district employee. The posting was later shared by another Facebook user, which led to other district employees commenting or liking the post. While the district does not believe the employee made the original posting with malicious intent, the posting shows poor judgment, a lack of cultural awareness, and does not reflect the district’s values.
This unfortunate incident has offended many people in our community and reflects the need to provide additional diversity/cultural sensitivity and social media training for our staff. These trainings will be conducted before the start of the 2020-2021 school year. The district will take the appropriate steps to address this situation, and use this incident as an opportunity to deepen our conversation on inclusiveness and cultural awareness.

Bald Knob Public Schools will be closed beginning Monday, March 16, 2020. Students will be welcomed back on Monday, March 30, 2020. We encourage you to take the recommendations of the Arkansas Department of Education and Arkansas Department of Health to heart and honor this time of social distancing. Please reconsider any travel plans that are nonessential. Social distancing will allow our community time to slow the spread of COVID-19. May your time at home be spent with your family making precious memories!

If you are planning to volunteer for the Color Run on April 9th, we are having a planning meeting at 2:00 p.m. in the administration board room Wednesday, March 11th. Please attend if possible. If you cannot attend and have not notified Lisa Moore, Whitney Swindle, or Andrea Mason that you want help, please do so as soon as possible. We need 40 volunteers. Background checks must be current.
Schools in Arkansas are working with the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) to address concerns surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19). Please see the two letters attached for more information from Melissa Gipson, Superintendent of Bald Knob Schools, and the ADH.
